Invitation to the 2011 Esarey Family Reunion

Dear All,
Acting on a suggested Perry County location, I have taken the liberty of reserving a location for the 2011 Esarey Family Reunion.

Location:  St. Augustine Church Hall, Leopold, Indiana
Date: Sunday,  August 14, 2011
Time for Lunch:  12:30pm to 12:45pm
 Meeting:  After lunch

Details:  Pot Luck lunch gathering.  Parking is available after 11:30am at end of the church service.  Volunteers to set up tables and chairs Sat. afternoon or Sunday morning are very much appreciated. Please let me know if you can help. Key is available at Guillaumes  store, Leopold, Saturday afternoon about 5:00pm.

PLEASE NOTE:  Perry County is on Central Daylight Time, Not Eastern Daylight  Time.  Please plan accordingly.

Although no formal program is planned this year, we do plan to have an important business meeting and also go over the results of the survey. Tables will be available for sharing family history and setting up materials.

Thanks to all of you who answered the March survey that I mailed, requesting your thoughts and ideas for future reunions.  The responses and suggestions received are appreciated and have been helpful and will be shared in a report at the Aug. 14 potluck.

I have prepaid the rental charge of $75 for the use of the church hall.

SATURDAY ACTIVITIES: Dwight Esarey is planning a gathering at Doe Run Resort in Brandenburg, Kentucky beginning in the late afternoon Saturday Aug. 13.  Doe Run Resort was an old mill built by Jonathon Essery in the very early 1800’s before the clan moved to Indiana.  The resort provides buffet style food.  Dwight is holding the 9 available guest rooms as well as the meeting room downstairs for a gathering for genealogy talks, to socialize, and play a little music with those who care to bring an instrument. To come for a meal, or make room reservations at Doe Run, please call Dwight directly, at 618-842-9369 as he is handling meal and room arrangements.  For your reference, the  Doe Run # is 270-422-2982.

Hope to see you at Leopold on Sunday August 14 for the noon pot luck gathering. I am told that the best route into Leopold is to turn off of route 37 by the Prairie Central School.

Of  special interest: I have just received information that a new priest is coming to Saint Augustine Church in Leopold in July.  His name is Brian Esarey !! How great is that. !!!
